The League of Arab States will not provide a military aid to the Syrian opposition, said UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin-Zayed Al-Nahyan after the meeting with his Russian counterprt Sergey Lavrov.

“I would like to call your attention to the fact that the Syrian opposition would not be provided with military support. It will be a political support to unite both internal and external forces of the opposition,” he said.

In his turn Minister Lavrov announced that consent of Damascus and the suspension of violence between the conflicting parties are necessary for sending peacekeepers to Syria.

The League of Arab States applied to UN with such request too.
