Two bishops have left for Austria from Armenia to participate in the Bishops’ Synod of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Father Yesayi Artenyan, Director of the Information Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, stated this in an interview with 24News.
The aforesaid high-ranking clergymen are Bishop Ararat Kaltakjian and Bishop Daniel Findikyan.
The Bishops’ Synod will kick off Tuesday, but without Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, and several bishops as a travel ban has been imposed against them. These bishops and Father Movses Sahakyan have been charged with obstructing the execution of a court order requiring Arman Saroyan—the defrocked Bishop Gevorg Saroyan—to be reinstated as the Primate of the Diocese of Masis of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
