The second round of indirect talks between Iran and the US on Iran's nuclear program has kicked off in Geneva, Switzerland at the Consulate General of Oman, Press TV reports.

As in the previous rounds, the agenda is focused exclusively on the nuclear issue and the lifting of US sanctions against Iran.

"It is obvious that the talks will concern the nuclear issue," Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei told reporters immediately before the start of the talks.

He noted that the format of these talks will be similar to those held in Muscat on February 6, when the Iranian and US negotiating teams had conveyed their messages through Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi and agreed to continue the negotiation process.

The American side in the negotiations is led by US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, while the Iranian side is represented by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
