During the first round of talks with the US in Oman on February 6, Iranian officials said they were ready to transfer some of their highly enriched uranium stockpile to a third party, possibly Russia, according to Iranian, Arab and US officials, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.

The daily added that this highly enriched material is enough for 12 nuclear bombs.

As per diplomats, Iran is ready also to offer the US a three-year freeze on uranium enrichment. However, the US insists that Iran completely stop enriching uranium.

Iran and the US held a second round of talks in Geneva, Switzerland on Tuesday. After the talks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said both sides had submitted their ideas for reaching an agreement. He called these talks meaningful. The FM added that Iran and the US had agreed to exchange texts to lay the groundwork for an agreement before setting a date for new talks.

And a US official told The Wall Street Journal that progress had been made, but many details remained to be discussed.
