A new war against Iran will not benefit the region, the Turkish president told reporters at his press conference, TRT Haber reports

"We [i.e. Turkey] want the issues between Iran and the United States to be resolved through dialogue. We maintain high-level contacts with both countries," Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, adding that he had telephone conversations with the presidents of Iran and the US.

"We do not build walls or incite conflicts; on the contrary, we build bridges and lay the foundation for peace. A new war against Iran will not benefit anyone; on the contrary, our region will only lose. We remain committed to peace and approach this issue with positive expectations. We will continue to explain that such military escalation and increased tensions will lead to greater uncertainty in our region. As long as the door to diplomacy is open, there is hope. We will maintain and strengthen this hope," the Turkish president said.
