The US plans to concentrate all its forces stationed in the Middle East by mid-March, which will enable President Donald Trump to launch a large-scale strike on Iran, a US official said, Bloomberg reports.

Bloomberg, citing FlightRadar24 data, reported an increase in the activity of US military transport aircraft, tankers, reconnaissance aircraft and drones, which are heading to Qatar, Jordan, Crete, and Spain.

A large-scale strike on Iran could drag the US into its third war in the Middle East since 1991, after the Persian Gulf War (1991) and the Iraq War (2003-2011), Bloomberg notes.

But according to The Wall Street Journal, the White House has not yet made a decision on whether to attack Iran. Possible options include a week-long series of strikes to force regime change in Iran, and a wave of smaller-scale attacks on Iranian government and military targets.

CBS News, however, claims that the US military is ready to strike Iran as early as Saturday.
