An Armenian church in Devrek town of Turkey’s Zonguldak Province is planned to be restored as a museum.

Devrek Mayor Ozcan Ulupinar visited Taner Beyoglu, Head of the Zonguldak Culture and Tourism Department, and discussed matters related to culture, according to the Halkinsesi website.

During the meeting, the restoration of the Armenian Holy Mother of God Church, located on the land owned by the Devrek Municipality, were discussed. Accordingly, it was agreed that the actual restoration of this church will begin in the near future after the relevant design work.

The aforesaid Armenian church will be restored in accordance with its natural appearance, but after the restoration it will operate as a museum.

It is noted that when this Armenian church operates as a museum, the tourism potential of Devrek will increase.
