The US-initiated Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project has attracted the attention of investors, Fitch Solutions has said in a report.
According to the organization, the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan has entered the preliminary implementation phase, and the growth of the US geostrategic presence in the region has also increased interest in new transit projects.
The TRIPP project, which will connect Azerbaijan with its Nakhchivan exclave through Armenia, could significantly change the logistics landscape of the region, Fitch Solutions says.
Its report noted that most of the TRIPP project will be managed by American-owned companies, and a joint venture will be created to develop a paid transit zone. US officials noted that “billions of dollars” of investment could be involved in related projects.
Fitch Solutions believes that parallel initiatives in energy security, transport infrastructure, and logistics can strengthen Azerbaijan's role as a regional transit hub and, against this background, economic and strategic cooperation with the US is forecast to deepen further in 2026.
According to the organization, increased investment activity in the region can contribute to both economic dynamics and the reshaping of the geopolitical balance.
As per the Fitch Solutions’ report, the US is becoming a significant alternative to a strategic partnership with Russia for Armenia and Azerbaijan.
