YEREVAN. - Armenia’s auto insurance compensations have increased as of January 1, 2012, the Auto Insurers’ Bureau of Armenia informs.

According to these changes, the maximum amount of insurance reimbursement for personal damages will now be AMD 3.3 million, instead of the previous AMD 3 million, for each injured party. And one road accident’s maximum compensation will be AMD 10 million, instead of the previous AMD 9 million.    

The maximum amount of insurance reimbursement for damages to property is increased by AMD 300 thousand, for each insured accident, and now it constitutes AMD 1.8 million.  

But the auto insurance and the risk coefficient rates are unchanged.

And the lump-sum insurance payment for the funeral of an accident victim has increased from AMD 650 thousand to AMD 1 million.  

To note, in line with the current exchange rate, US$ 1 is equivalent to approximately AMD 388.
