Iran has never sought to develop an atomic bomb. The president of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Pezeshkian, stated this ahead of the third round of indirect talks with the US in Geneva, Switzerland, on Thursday.

"The enemies say that Iran should not seek nuclear weapons. But we [i.e. Iran] have repeatedly stated that we do not seek to have nuclear weapons," Pezeshkian said on the air of the Iranian state television and radio company.

The authorities of the Islamic Republic have repeatedly stated that they have no intention of creating nuclear weapons.
