Iran has always supported Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity; and within the framework of these important goals, we have developed our cooperation in the defense sector also, Iranian ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgholami told reporters Thursday.

He noted that cooperation between Iran and Armenia is at the highest level in all domains, and the defense sector is no exception.

However, the Iranian ambassador to Armenia could not provide a specific timeframe for the signing of a comprehensive document on strategic cooperation between the two countries.

"At this phase, the details of the content of the text are being discussed. I hope that the document will be signed in 2026," the Iranian diplomat added.

Shirgholami noted that considering that the document concerns comprehensive cooperation, it is very important to work out all the points in detail.
