U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the strike on Iranian territory in a video address published on the social media platform Truth Social.

“A short time ago, the United States military began major combat operations in Iran. Our objective is to protect the American people by eliminating immediate threats posed by the Iranian regime,” he said in the video.

“It has always been the policy of the United States, in particular my administration, that this terrorist regime can never have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said.
