Israel has named its operation against Iran “Lion's roar,” according to The Times of Israel.

The decision on the name was made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while the Israel Defense Forces(IDF) reportedly had a different internal name for the strikes. The IDF’s previous operation against Iran, carried out in June 2025, was called “Rising Lion.”

According to Channel 12, today’s strikes on Iranian territory targeted the homes of ministers and military commanders, facilities of the Ministry of Defense and intelligence services, as well as a presidential compound.
