The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, the elite forces of the Iranian armed forces) has vowed to avenge the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. This was stated in a special IRGC statement.

"We will decisively avenge the killers for the death of Iran's Supreme Leader," reads the statement cited by IRNA. It states that "Iran's armed forces will continue the path of their leader and punish those who attacked the Islamic Republic."

The IRGC called on all segments of Iranian society to "unite and show the entire world the unity of the Iranian people."
