The Washington administration expected a retaliatory strike from Iran against US forces and installations in the Middle East, but anticipated it would be far stronger. US President Donald Trump stated this in an interview with CBS News.
"It was what we expected," he said. "But we thought it would be twice as strong," the president added, speaking about Iran's retaliatory strike. "So far it's less than we thought," the White House chief added.
