Cyprus government spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis issued a statement stressing that the country faced no threat.

“In relation to statements and media reports referring to the launch of missiles towards the direction of Cyprus, it is clarified that this is not the case and there is no indication whatsoever that any threat to the country has occurred,” he wrote on social media.

Earlier, UK Defense Secretary John Healey said that two Iranian missiles had been launched in the direction of Cyprus, where British bases are located.
