The Supreme Spiritual Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who had spent his entire life on the path of resistance and struggle against the oppressors, was killed as a result of this indecent attack by America and the Zionist regime, Iranian ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgholami told a press conference Monday.

“This happened in a situation when the Supreme Spiritual leader of Iran was busy with his daily affairs like any other citizen of Iran. This happened in a situation when the Spiritual Leader of Iran continued to serve the homeland and the noble aspirations of the Iranian people.

The Spiritual Leader of Iran had a very positive attitude towards the Armenian people, the Republic of Armenia, as well as the Armenian community living in Iran. Numerous quotes and famous words from him have survived in defense of the territorial integrity of Armenia and the sovereignty of Armenia. We can say that Armenia and the Armenian people enjoyed this supportive stance of the Iranian spiritual leader. His martyrdom for the Iranian people, but the Iranian people have the will to continue to work and struggle with an even sweeter spirit on the path of the aspirations and goals of the Iranian people.

Shirgholami stated that a power vacuum has not formed in Iran and the Guardian Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran continues to govern the country in this transitional period and in the near future they will witness the presentation of the new Islamic Spiritual leader of Iran by the Guardian Council.

“The Iranian people took to the streets from the very first minutes when they learned about the martyrdom of the Spiritual Leader and began a mourning ceremony,” said the Iranian ambassador to Armenia.
