"This is not a one-time overnight operation." This was stated by Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine, adding that additional US military casualties should be expected.
"The military tasks that have been assigned to Central Command and the Joint Forces will take time to complete and, in some cases, will be challenging and intense work."
"We expect additional casualties, and as always, we will work to minimize US losses," the general added.
Since the US and Israeli strikes on targets inside Iran over the weekend, four American service members have been killed.
General Dan Caine also expressed condolences to the families of the four American soldiers killed in Kuwait over the weekend amid US military operations against Iran.
