Former British intelligence chief Sir John Sawers expressed this view in a conversation with Sky News.
"The balance of forces inside Iran… clearly favors the regime and its security forces," he noted.
Sawers also emphasized that there is no organized opposition in Iran, and therefore the US and Israel will, in his view, have to count on the emergence of new leadership that will be "more pragmatic."
