Russia's EMERCOM is evacuating Russian nationals from Azerbaijan who previously left Iran via land border crossings, the ministry's press service announced Tuesday.

An EMERCOM Il-76 special flight departed from Zhukovsky airport outside Moscow to bring these citizens back to the capital. The ministry noted that doctors from the Tsentrospas unit and EMERCOM psychologists are on board to provide necessary assistance.

The evacuation of Russian citizens is being carried out in accordance with instructions from President Vladimir Putin and on the orders of EMERCOM chief Alexander Kurenkov.

Last Monday, the ministry evacuated 84 people serving in Israel from Egypt to Russia.
