The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is taking all necessary efforts to evacuate Russian citizens from Iran, Russian MFA spokesperson Maria Zakharova said Wednesday.

“Information on the possibility of leaving Iran by land via the territories of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkmenistan was promptly published and continues to be updated on the online resources of our diplomatic missions in Ashgabat, Baku, and Yerevan.

Our diplomats are in close contact with the competent authorities of the receiving countries for the purpose of the speedy evacuation of Russian citizens. I regularly communicate with our diplomats. I can say that I hear from them only the highest and most sincere words of gratitude. They describe their contacts and the effectiveness of these contacts with diplomats and representatives of the relevant authorities of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkmenistan in the most laudatory way.

We can collectively say to everyone: ‘Well, in fact we can.’ It is important that this experience of operational interaction is also applied in other situations,” added the Russian MFA spox.
