Footage has emerged of debris from a US SM-3 interceptor missile found in Turkey's Hatay province, which intercepted an Iranian ballistic missile.

Earlier, Turkey's Defense Ministry reported that an Iranian ballistic missile was shot down in Turkish airspace. The missile was fired from Iranian territory, flew through Iraqi and Syrian airspace, and was heading into Turkish airspace before being destroyed by NATO air defense systems located in the Mediterranean.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi over the incident.
