Qatar will need at least a month to return to previous LNG production volumes after Qatar Energy suspended operations, Reuters reports, citing sources.

Qatar Energy had earlier notified its customers of a force majeure event due to the halt in LNG production. Sources note that the plant in Ras Laffan will need at least two weeks to restart production, with another two weeks required to restore previous capacity.

Qatar is one of the world's three largest LNG exporters. The Ras Laffan industrial cluster, located approximately 80 km north of Doha, houses the main liquefaction, storage and loading facilities, with infrastructure comprising 14 LNG trains with a combined capacity of around 77 million tonnes per year.
