Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth has once again revised the timeline for the military operation against Iran, suggesting it could be extended to eight weeks instead of the previously stated four to five.

"Our actions are limited only by President Trump's desire to achieve certain goals for the benefit of Americans… the timeline could be four weeks, or six or eight, or perhaps three. We set the dynamics and pace of the operation ourselves," Hegseth said during a Pentagon press briefing.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump had cited a timeline of four to five weeks for completing the attacks on Iran if necessary.
