The airspace of Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain will remain closed to flights for at least another 12 hours, TASS reports, citing a source in air traffic control circles.

“The aviation authorities of Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait have once again extended the ban on flights in their airspace for another 12 hours — until 04:00 GMT on Friday, March 6,” the agency’s source said.

Earlier, the ban on the use of airspace, introduced in the first half of the day on February 28 due to the situation in the Middle East, had been in effect until the evening of the current day.

Airspace over Iran and Iraq is also closed, flights in Israeli airspace are periodically suspended, and the sky over the UAE is partially closed. Syrian authorities, as previously reported to TASS by the air traffic control service of the Damascus flight information region, have opened three corridors for flights from Aleppo airport toward Turkey and the Mediterranean Sea, while the rest of the country’s airspace remains closed until Saturday, March 7. Damascus airport will also remain closed until the same date.
