In recent days, the Republic of Armenia (RA) Embassy in India—concurrently in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal—has been carrying out its functions in an emergency mode. This is stated on the Facebook page of Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) spokesperson Ani Badalyan.

“Contact has been maintained with the RA citizens who remained in the countries of accreditation, mainly in India and Sri Lanka for tourist purposes, as a result of the cancellation of flights due to the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East, necessary information has been collected and the possibilities of their return to the RA have been considered.

The [RA] Embassy [in India] has shown consistence in the necessary work to obtain the appropriate flight permit, including in cooperation with the India’s ministry of aviation and the MFA.

Participants of the regular event of the Seaside Startup Summit held in India and members of the tourist group (Vardan Travel), totaling 104 RA citizens, departed from Goa to Yerevan late on the late evening of March 5. The plane has already landed at [Yerevan’s] Zvartnots [International] Airport.

At the moment, 12 RA citizens from Sri Lanka, 6 [RA] citizens from Goa have contacted the RA Embassy [in India], who are there mainly for tourism or business purposes. The RA Embassy in New Delhi is in daily contact with all of them. In case of an urgent wish to leave, it was suggested to consider various working directions.

2 RA citizens in the Maldives have also contacted the [RA] Embassy in New Delhi, who were presented with the currently available options.
