Currently there are no Armenian citizens stranded in Japan due to the situation in the Middle East. Ani Badalyan, spokesperson for the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Foreign Affairs (RA MFA), on Friday informed about this on Facebook.

“Since the start of the situation, there have been 6 RA citizens in Japan; the [Armenian] embassy [in Japan] has been in touch with them.

Pending the finding of alternative [airline] ticket options, the two [Armenian] students of the University of Tsukuba have been provided with accommodation by the university. This morning they departed from Tokyo via Japan-Uzbekistan-Georgia-Armenia and Japan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-Russia routes.

The other 4 people, including two members of the RA Central Bank board, are already in Yerevan; they have returned on a Japan-China-Georgia-Armenia flight,” the RA MFA spokesperson added.
