Against the backdrop of events in the Middle East, Armenia's Foreign Ministry assisted in obtaining permits for Muscat-Yerevan flights, according to a post on the ministry's press secretary's Facebook page.
An embassy diplomat was present at the UAE-Omani border to facilitate the entry of Armenian citizens from the UAE into Oman. At Muscat airport, the embassy diplomat provided necessary assistance to Armenian citizens.
In addition to passengers on Muscat-Yerevan flights, 3 citizens who were in Oman when hostilities began have already returned to Armenia. Currently, 5 Armenian citizens have contacted the Armenian Embassy in Oman: 2 in the capital Muscat, who arrived from a Far Eastern country on a Qatar Airways flight, and 3 in the city of Salalah. The embassy is in contact with all of them. Airlines have provided accommodation, and options for returning to Armenia are being discussed.
