A Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Independent State of Samoa was signed in New York on March 5. The communiqué was signed by Armenia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Paruyr Hovhannisyan, and Samoa's Permanent Representative, Fatumanavaefaoolele Luteru. Samoa thus became the 187th country with which Armenia has established diplomatic relations.
