US President Donald Trump said he opposes Kurdish participation in the war with Iran, as Washington does not want the conflict to become "even more complicated."

Speaking to journalists, Trump noted that the US has good relations with the Kurds but has advised them not to intervene in the war.

"We are very friendly with the Kurds, as you know, but we don't want to make this war even more complicated than it already is," Trump said.

He added that he directly asked Kurdish forces not to participate in the fighting, despite their readiness to join the conflict.

"I don't want the Kurds to enter the war. I don't want them to get hurt or killed," the US president emphasized.
