US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that it does not matter whether Russia provided Iran with information that helped Tehran strike American military personnel and assets in the Middle East during the week-long war, Associated Press reports.

Trump dismissed the significance of any such information sharing and declined to confirm US media reports that American intelligence officials believe Russia provided Iran with targeting information.

In his view, even if Moscow is sharing such details, Iran has gained little from it. "If you look at what's happened to Iran over the last week, if they are getting information, it's not helping them very much," Trump told journalists aboard Air Force One en route to Miami, where he will spend the rest of the weekend.

Trump also brushed off a question about how Russia helping Iran in this way might affect his view of US-Russia relations. "They would say we're doing it against them. Wouldn't they say we're doing it against them?" he said.
