Iran has announced that at least 104 crew members were killed and 32 others were injured in a US attack on the Iranian frigate Iris Dena last week, according to official sources, Fars reports.

As per this Iranian media outlet, the injured crew members were taken to a Sri Lankan hospital for treatment after a rescue operation. A US Navy submarine had attacked the aforesaid frigate, which was carrying about 130 sailors, on March 4.

The attack caused the frigate to sink off the coast of Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan navy rescued 32 people, all Iranian citizens. They have been hospitalized.
