Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi mocked the name of the US military operation against Iran — "Operation Epic Fury" — in a post on X.

"Operation Epic Mistake. On day nine of 'Operation Epic Mistake,' oil prices have doubled, and all goods are rapidly getting more expensive. We know the US is plotting strikes on our oil and nuclear facilities, hoping to contain the enormous inflationary shock. Iran is fully prepared. And we also have many surprises," Araghchi wrote.

Meanwhile, US gasoline futures have risen to their highest level since 2022, despite Donald Trump's claims that the impact on Americans' cost of living would be limited ahead of the November midterm elections.
