Iran is ready for a long war with the United States, foreign policy adviser to the Supreme Leader's office Kamal Kharrazi said in an interview with CNN.

He ruled out a diplomatic solution at this time. "I no longer see room for diplomacy. Because Donald Trump has been deceiving others and not keeping his promises, and we faced this twice during negotiations, while we were negotiating, they were striking us," Kharrazi said. "There is no room for diplomacy, unless economic pressure is built up to such a degree that other countries intervene to guarantee the cessation of American and Israeli aggression against Iran," he added, hinting that Gulf states and other countries should pressure the US to end the war.

"This war creates great pressure — economic pressure — on others, in the form of inflation, energy shortages, and if it continues, this pressure will increase, and consequently others will have no choice but to intervene," Kharrazi said.
