Abu Dhabi's state oil company ADNOC has shut down its refinery in Ruwais, Reuters reports, citing a source. The closure decision was made after a fire broke out at a facility in the complex following a drone strike. The emirate's government media office earlier said Abu Dhabi authorities are responding to the fire and that there are no casualties.

The complex hosts ADNOC facilities capable of processing up to 922,000 barrels of oil per day and serves as a central hub for the emirate's oil product processing and distribution, including major chemical, fertilizer and industrial gas plants. The refinery was shut as a precautionary measure, the source said, adding that all other operations at the complex are continuing normally.
