Tehran will decide within a certain period of time the punishments for those involved in the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Iranian ambassador to Russia said on Thursday.

"The decision to punish those responsible for this crime will be made in Tehran at the appropriate time," Kazem Jalali said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The US and Israel have been carrying out attacks on Iran since February 28, which has led to destruction and casualties.

Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Seyyed Khamenei, and several other high-ranking Iranian officials were also killed in the attacks.

In response, Iran has launched missile strikes on Israel and US military bases and facilities in the region.
