Silent, calm, quiet diplomatic work is being done towards the signing of the peace agreement. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during a press briefing at the government building Thursday—and addressing the question of whether the peace agreement with Azerbaijan can be signed before the parliamentary elections in Armenia in June.

“I have no doubt that this agreement will be signed. Now, it will be signed in April, May, June, September, when, that is the second issue, but it will be signed. But it is very important to note that the coinciding of the positions of Armenia and Azerbaijan is already clearer, that even in the conditions of the peace agreement not being signed and being initialed, peace has been established.

We are now talking about consolidating peace and the impossibility of reversing peace. And in this regard, domestic political processes are more important, both in Armenia and in Azerbaijan, because there are forces also in Armenia, and I suppose there are [forces] in Azerbaijan as well, that are not so happy with peace and will attempt to reverse peace.

We, the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, must stand up for the established peace and make it irreversible,” the Armenian premier added.
