US President Donald Trump said in an NBC News interview that he was "extremely surprised" by Iran's strikes on Middle Eastern countries.

"I was very surprised," Trump said, adding that it was "the biggest surprise for me in this whole thing."

He added that US allies in the Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, "were magnificent" and "were being shot at unnecessarily."

According to NBC News analysis, Iran has been launching drones at Middle Eastern countries, including those Trump mentioned, as well as Bahrain and Kuwait, targeting oil infrastructure, logistics hubs, and government centers. The US does not publish data on the number of drones it encounters or intercepts, but according to UAE data, as of March 10, 1,475 unmanned aerial vehicles had been launched at the country.

As a reminder, the US and Israel have been attacking Iranian territory since February 28, causing destruction and loss of life. In response, Iran has been launching missile strikes against Israel and US military bases in the region. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Seyyed Khamenei and other senior officials were also killed in the US-Israeli strikes.

On March 2, Hezbollah also joined the war against Israel. Israel announced the start of an offensive operation against the movement and entered southern Lebanon.
