In Iran, those convicted of spying for the US and Israel face the death penalty, warned the head of the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei.

"A court order has been issued to seize and freeze the assets of certain individuals who collaborated with the aggressive regimes of the US and Israel. The other penalty provided for in this article is the death penalty. After the investigation, it will certainly be applied as a legal punishment to the guilty. We warn all those elements who try to threaten the security of the [Iranian] people: in case of attempts to become a threat, they will face decisive legal measures, and there will be no leniency," Mohseni-Ejei said, reports SNN television.

On March 15, Iran's Police Chief, Brigadier General Ahmadreza Radan, announced that Iranian law enforcement agencies had arrested 500 people since February 28 on suspicion of collaborating with the adversary.
