There are no significant problems at the moment at the Agarak crossing point on the Armenian-Iranian border. Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia, Eduard Hakobyan, told this to reporters at the National Assembly today, regarding the logistical problems that have arisen toward Armenia as a result of the ongoing Iran conflict.

As is known, starting from 4am on March 4, the passage of persons across the Armenian-Iranian border was temporarily suspended due to a disruption of the internet connection on the Iranian side.

“We are following the dynamics every day. The movement of people and cargo [at the Armenian-Iranian border] is almost at the same levels as before; it’s just that there are queues sometimes. We also hear from business entities that there are logistical problems in Iran… Yes, there are logistical slowdowns, but all the same; these routes continue to work,” the SRC chief noted.

According to Hakobyan, no major risks have yet arisen from the point of view of border crossing, too.

“The border crossing is operating as normal; from time to time there are manageable accumulations, which is again normal,” the SRC chairman added.
