Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has confirmed the death of Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib.
"The cowardly assassination of my dear colleagues Esmail Khatib (Iran's Security Council Secretary), Ali Larijani, and (Defense Minister) Aziz Nasirzadeh, as well as some members of their families and those accompanying them, has plunged us into grief," he wrote on X.
