Azerbaijan expects that the assurances provided by the Iranian side, regarding a thorough investigation into the incident on the drone attacks launched from the territory of Iran targeting Nakhchivan exclave of Azerbaijan on March 5, will be fulfilled and that necessary measures will be taken to prevent any recurrence. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated this at the Consultative Ministerial Meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, APA reports.
According to him, on March 5, drones from Iranian territory attacked the infrastructure of Nakhchivan, four civilians were injured, and the Nakhchivan airport and several other facilities were damaged.
Bayramov said that “Azerbaijan has responded in a swift and resolute manner, reaffirming its determination to safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens by all legitimate means.”
