Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan stated this during the presentation of a report on the 2025 progress and results of the implementation of the government's 2021-2026 program at Friday’s meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on labor and social issues.

The minister added that there have been no rejections of Karabakh refugees’ applications for Armenian citizenship.

Also, the number of minors displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh is 28 thousand, and 12 thousand of them have already received Armenian citizenship.

Regarding the total number of applications for Armenian citizenship, Sargsyan noted that although the Ministry of Internal Affairs received about 4,000 applications in the first half of 2025, according to data for the first two and a half months of 2026, that number has already reached five thousand.
