Israel's Ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter, said in an interview with CNN that retaliatory measures will be taken following two Iranian missile strikes on the Israeli cities of Dimona and Arad.

"The response will be to continue this campaign until we bring this regime to its knees. We can no longer live with a hostile country that intends to destroy us, that constantly declares it is going to destroy us, and is now launching ballistic missiles at all its neighbors," Leiter said.

When the Israeli ambassador was asked how to explain these attacks in light of statements by US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Iran's missile capability had been destroyed, he deflected the question to Iran, claiming that "Iranians are lying... these are killers who lie."

"They said they had no intercontinental ballistic missiles. Well, now they have proven that they do," he said.
