An agreement has been reached with the Islamic Republic of Iran to formally elevate Armenia-Iran relations to a de jure strategic level. This was stated today, March 23, by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at a session of the National Assembly's Committee on Foreign Relations.
He noted that these relations have long been at the level of strategic partnership in practice, but that an agreement has now been reached to elevate them to a strategic level de jure.
