Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed regional developments in a phone call, Tasnim reports.
The Iranian Foreign Minister strongly condemned the actions of the United States and certain other countries in the Security Council aimed at pressuring Iran, stating: "Instead of fulfilling their duty to maintain international peace and security, the Security Council has ignored the root cause of the current situation — namely, the aggression of the United States and the Israeli regime — and rather than condemning the aggressors and holding them accountable, it is blaming Iran, which is defending itself."
Araghchi added: "Iran seriously expects the member states of the Security Council, especially China and Russia, to prevent further abuses by the United States in the Security Council by taking a firm stance in condemning the aggression of the United States and Israel."
Commenting on the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to American and Zionist vessels, as well as to other parties participating in the military aggression against Iran, Araghchi noted: "The passage of vessels belonging to other countries is being carried out in coordination with the competent Iranian authorities."
