"Yesterday we made it clear that no negotiations between Iran and the United States are taking place," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said in an interview with India Today.
He emphasized that no such negotiations have occurred throughout the past 25 days of what he described as the illegal war against Iran.
"And, as you can see, we have, I would say, a catastrophic experience with United States diplomacy. We were attacked twice within 9 months while we were in the midst of a negotiation process to resolve the nuclear issue. So that was a betrayal of diplomacy. This is now a very well-known phrase in Iran, because it happened not once but twice. So how can one trust United States diplomacy? Our position on their statements is absolutely clear. Right now, our brave forces are focused on defending the territory and sovereignty of Iran against this brutal, illegal war," the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed.
