Israeli Economy Minister Nir Barkat said on Israel's public broadcaster Kan News that in his view, Trump and Netanyahu are jointly managing the situation, despite apparent contradictions over whether negotiations are actually taking place.

According to Barkat, any deal with Iran must strip Tehran of its remaining capabilities.

The advantage, he said, lies with the United States and Israel. "On one hand, Trump is negotiating with them, but he is also deploying troops to the Persian Gulf," the Israeli Economy Minister stated.
