In light of recent developments in the region, NATO has decided to withdraw its “NATO Mission in Iraq.” In accordance with this decision, Turkish Armed Forces personnel serving in Baghdad (the capital of Iraq) have been successfully evacuated to Turkey, said Turkish Defense Ministry spokesman Zeki Aktürk.
“Our country also provided support for the evacuation of allied military personnel within the framework of NATO’s withdrawal plan.
Conflicts between the United States/Israel and Iran, as well as Israel’s ongoing aggression, continue to threaten peace and stability in the Middle East. Turkey firmly maintains that all sides must exercise restraint and that disputes should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy on the basis of international law,” he said.
