According to a new law of the Iranian parliament, the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz will become paid. This was announced by Alaeddin Boroujerdi, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Majles.

"We [i.e. Iran] have full control over the Strait of Hormuz. Soon, with the adoption of the bill by the Majles, a new system will prevail on this waterway. Ensuring security and providing services to ships will be carried out through the fees [for passing through the strait] stipulated in the bill," Boroujerdi said, reports SNN television.
